How much are your Jack Russells puppies? -$1400
Have you been doing your research?
You will pay close to the same price here that you will at a pet store..... BUT.......................
at "pet" stores you are most likely buying a puppy from a puppy mill, or from brokers
who buy from puppy mills. They can be (and usually are) riddled with physical and psychological problems. These
problems are not apparent right away and can end up costing you hundreds if not thousands of dollars in medical
bills later on down the road.
My puppies cost the same as
pet store puppies BUT you are getting a privately bred puppy with a pedigree, up to date vaccinations, veterinary confirmation
and guarantee of excellent health. Please call or email me for specifics on the puppy you are interested
in.
There is absolutely NO
comparison to buying from a private breeder with an established history, and education whom you have met and were
welcomed the opportunity to meet the actual parents of the puppies. Private breeders with fewer puppies are able
to give individual attention, unconditional love and unsurpassed care to the puppy that you will be bringing
home and living with for the next 15 to 20 years!. I will be available throughout the entire life
of your puppy for questions, concerns, advice, worries, or just bragging rights!
The average buyer has no idea
of the phenomenal amount of time, work, effort, love and money that goes into breeding the best puppy. This is not
just a "hobby" for me, I take it very seriously and absolutely love what I do. I give my best in personal care, hand -birthing,
devotion, committment, socialization, nutrition, grooming, training, nurturing, veterinary-technology expertise, and many
sleepless nights to my puppies. I hope to give new owners the comfort and security they need to
make the decision to get a puppy from me an easy one. Because you are here on this site, shows that
you are smart and doing your research and homework! Don't buy a puppy from a pet store!
Are there any special concerns?
-Like most breeds of dogs, sometimes they can have food or environmental allergies.
-Some recessive genes can cause leg shape to be slightly "bowed" inward
(like a bulldogs legs) sometimes referred to as "Queen Ann" legs.
Do they shed?
Yes they do shed - it's a minimal amount - they have a heavy shed period one time before
the hot weather comes. Coats are short, and low maintenance.
Why do they all have different
"ear" types?
These ears are great!! Sometimes they are up, sometimes they are down, sometimes one is standing
up while the other isn't! Each dog is different, there is no disqualifying "standard" here.
Do they get along with cats?
Our puppies love and get along with all family members.
(A more appropriate quesion would be...will the cat like the puppy?! - always supervise
your new puppy, especially with cats and young kids).
Is it hard to train
Jack Russells?
No, just the opposite. They are extremely intelligent, train quickly and easily. (Ever
notice how many are in TV shows and commercials?) Trained dogs are happy dogs and know their place in the family.
Trained Jacks make happy Jacks and happy owners! I strongly recommend enrolling your puppy in Puppy
Kindergarten and/or similar training program as soon as you bring your puppy home. Consistency, structure and socialization
(human as well as canine) ensures a well trained, well adjusted and all around happy dog family. I can suggest
names, places and programs for training.
Aren't they hyper?
It depends. Proper early training plays a MAJOR roll on your dog's behavior.
Like all dogs they need to play and exercise daily. Our Jacks like to be with you no matter what you're
doing. They are great little playmates and enjoy an active life but also love to sit on your lap, snuggle and just
hang out with you. They want to be with you no matter what's going on!
Despite their reputation, they are NOT constantly "bouncing off the
walls"........unless you are. :) Early training is the key.
Are they good with children??
Yes! However, I don't recommend new puppies be placed with any child under the age of four
years old. You should always watch your young children around any animal.
Children must be taught to treat the puppy with gentleness and respect.
How long do they live?
A happy, healthy Jack's "typical" life span is about 15 or so years.
How do I get one??
-We ask that you answer a short questionairre/application which helps me to
determine owner compatibility, environmental compatibility, social compatibility and overall positive owner/puppy
match.
-Reservations are taken on a first come first served basis, and potential buyers should
be aware of some waiting time.
-A $200 deposit is required from clients who have answered the compatibility questionairre
and have been accepted as a good match. No deposit is required for repeat families ;) Deposits are 100% refundable
up to 6 weeks before pick up date.
-Delivery arrangements can be made, but I prefer not to "ship" puppies.
Do you have any references?
Yes. Please inquire.
Do you have any quarantees?
-We guarantee the health of all our puppies up to 10 days from the time you bring your pup
home. Your puppy will be perfect when s/he leaves here. If s/he contracts heartworm or fleas or something that
was in your control, I can not be held responsible for that.
-We suggest you bring your new puppy to your own veterinarian for a check up as soon as you
receive him/her for confirmation of his health
-You will receive written health certification from our veterinarian.
-You will receive a written vaccination record from our veterinarian.
-If for any reason you find you are not well suited with your puppy, I will take the
pup back with no questions asked but will offer no refund. Please contact me first before you
give your puppy away or decide you can not keep him for whatever the reason may be.
-I will be available for questions, concerns, and advice throughout
the entire life of your puppy/dog.
What are the basic differences
in Parson/Irish/English/Puddin Terriers???
The picture below clearly shows the difference between the Parsons and the Shortie Russell
Terriers. Thanks go to my friend Denise
for letting me show Frazier off next to two of my own shorties.
The Shorty Jack Russells, the original Russell (or English, Irish, Puddins..) have
very diverse origins and lots of history. If you want more detailed information about the breed specifics,
I would be happy to discuss them with you. There is not enough space on this website to explain it all!! However, in
a word, shorties have shorter legs than the Parsons, are slightly longer than they are tall, have smooth
coats as opposed to rough coats are moreso of a family oriented dog instead of a hunter, and have a "calmer"
demeanor. There are rough coated shorties, but mine are all smooth. My
puppies are not shipped in from anywhere at 8 weeks of age or sold as specialty pups.
My puppies are born right here in my home and live, grow, learn and thrive amidst a typical
family setting with children, grown-ups, other animals, and a true to life experience before they become a part of your own
family. Your puppy will not be nervous, timid or afraid of children, loud noises, commotion, or just sitting around
watching TV. This is the life they are accustomed to, and what a gift it is for me to watch them grow into another
member of your own special family.
